Our Temperamental Hibiscus

Every once in a while our hibiscus blooms. It bears beautiful flowers, or should I say flower (singular). It blooms whenever it feels like it... one at a time. I guess it doesn't want to compete with our neighbor's hibiscus that currently has seven or eight blooms on it. That's OK, it only makes me appreciate each bloom... bloom by bloom. See, isn't it per-tee?
