If you ever plan to have kids... go shopping NOW for gates! You will return them anyway, have to go out and get different brands, then the screws will be missing, so you will have to go to Lowes, then you will have to read all the instructions only to wish you were a Civil Engineer, then you will have to install a gate extender and buy an additional mounting kit. Then once you have your gate installed you have to do this ALL over again because none of your stairwells are the same! good times!

I feel your pain. We have unusual size openings and we are having a hard time finding a gate to fit. We are tired of looking honestly. Right now we have her pack n play and a ottoman in the space but once she learns to crawl on that ottoman we are in trouble and have to make a decision. Frustrating!!
