welcome twenty-ten!

Happy New Year folks! Twenty ten! Can you believe it? Twenty ten has started with a craft... I tried an embosser for the first time. Below are our "Christmas Cards" that never materialized, so I turned them into our New Year's Card! I worked on them last night and they will be going out tomorrow. So, if you receive one, act surprised! Ohhh, Ahhhh! Bought all these goodies at Paper Source, my fave! I used a square card with the message on one side and our photo on the back.
One thing I would like to do more this year is CREATE. It makes me happy. Another thing that makes me happy and that I would like to keep up with in the new year is KEEPING THINGS SIMPLE. I tend to over-complicate things and I tend to keep a lot of things that clutter up my world and make me unhappy over time. Just one little example is my tendency to keep emails. I recently deleted a million emails and I'm down to 29! They are unread, but I keep them as reminders. I feel so much better looking at a decluttered gmail account. I decluttered our computer desktop that was driving me crazy. Now everything is placed in it's very own folder and off the desktop. I feel better even writing about it, not to mention looking at our desktop. I decluttered my iphone, getting rid of apps that I never used and reorganizing. Now I must tackle many other areas in my life to declutter, such as my bedroom, closet, and purse!
Below is Reese drawing on her chalkboard. I measured her height and thought it would be a good idea to keep up with that over the years. I don't intend to use her chalkboard for this, I was thinking of a more permanent spot in the house. Like when we were kids we had a spot on a door molding that we recorded the families heights over the years. I'm thinking somewhere in the garage... hmmm... gotta think about that one.
